Content & How to use
In order to be aware of your individual or team responsibilities, you should be aware of the process your team is going through. The team process is explained in the video about Gantt charts. This video explains how to successfully plan your project. The hand-out that follows, goes deeper into the need to formulate goals and how to do so, so that responsibilities are clear to each team member. Finally, a hand-out about the different phases of a team project is provided to make you aware of the different stages in which goals have to be achieved and what responsibilities come with these goals.
1. Gantt chart tutorial video: learn how to create Gantt charts
If you miss a deadline or finish a task out of sequence in your project, there could be knock-on effects in the rest of the project. It is the responsibility of all team members to ensure that this does not happen. To make sure project management occurs properly, it is helpful to be able to see everything that needs to be done, and know at a glance, when each activity needs to be completed. If you and your team do not have any goals formulated, you probably do not have a proper sense of what you are doing and in which direction your assignment is heading. Formulating clear goals as a team not only serves as a guide, it also makes clear what tasks need to be carried out within which amont of time, and what the team responsibilities are. To keep a large project manageable, a project is often divided into phases, as you already noticed in the video about Gantt charts. It is useful to be aware of the different phases a project consists of so that you can formulate goals within these phases. These goals lead to responsibilities the team should be aware of.
